After years of using slide film, I have finally joined the 21st Century and made the switch to digital. I use Canon’s excellent EOS 300D with 18-55mm lens and have been thrilled with the results. As well as being incredibly lightweight, it is also very robust and weatherproof – key attributes to taking photos in extreme conditions. Their excellent IXUS compact digital cameras make ideal back-up cameras, particularly if it’s too cold to use the SLR.
K2 have been making skis for longer than almost everyone in the business. Their innovative "torsion box" technology is much lighter than the traditional laminate style found in ordinary skis and gives fantastic feel in all snow conditions. I use their excellent Apache Recon ski for backcountry skiing and the super lightweight Chogori for ski touring.
